Objective

To create a collaborative effort within ING IM that leverages traditional investment management capabilities with capital market strengths to deliver structured financial solutions.

Structured Vehicles

Structured vehicles are special purpose companies organized to manage and administer a portfolio of collateral securities in accordance with the terms of the organizational covenants, conditions and restrictions. ING IM’s structured vehicles include collateralized loan obligation (CLO) and collateralized debt obligation (CDO) businesses. Five CLO transactions have been completed since 2005, including credit-linked notes that invest in our offshore institutional senior loan fund.

More recently, ING IM has entered the CDO market with managed synthetic-investment-grade credit transactions, which leverage the corporate credit infrastructure of our Atlanta-based fixed income team.

Structured Funds

ING IM’s closed-end fund business now includes approximately $4.5 billion in assets under management across six funds.

ING Prime Rate Trust (PPR): A leveraged, senior bank loan fund managed by ING IM’s Scottsdale, AZ-based senior debt team.

ING Global Dividend and Premium Opportunity Fund (IGD): A global high dividend equity fund with a call option overlay managed by ING IM Europe.

ING Global Advantage and Premium Opportunity Fund (IGA): A global enhanced index equity fund with an index call overlay.

ING Risk Managed Natural Resources Fund (IRR): An energy and materials equity fund that implements a collar strategy by writing calls and purchasing puts on energy and materials indices.

ING Asia Pacific High Dividend Equity Income Fund (IAE): An Asia Pacific high-dividend equity income fund with an index call writing overlay.
