Christopher Corapi is Chief Investment Officer, Equities in the U.S. business with responsibility for the fundamental and quantitative equities platforms. He joined ING Investment Management in February 2004 as Director of U.S. equity research and Co-Manager of VP growth and income portfolio. Prior to joining ING, he was the global head of equity research at Federated Investors. Previously he was head of U.S. equities and portfolio manager at Credit Suisse Asset Management. Prior to that, Chris was with JPMorgan Investment Management as head of emerging markets research and was a U.S. equity analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein & Company. He holds a B.S. in business administration from Alfred University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Charu Ahluwalia joined ING Investment Management in September 2006 as a Portfolio Specialist supporting the Quantitative Equity team. Most recently, Charu was a product marketing analyst at Instinet, where she developed and marketed a new research product for six sectors for the U.S. and Canadian markets. She has also conducted extensive research on products, services, competitors, and customer needs in institutional equity trading. Prior to that she was a credit analyst at G.E. Capital in Delhi, India. Charu received her M.B.A. and a B.B.A. from H.P. University, India and holds series 7 and 63 licenses.

Tom Applegate is a Senior Portfolio Specialist and head of the equity portfolio specialist team. In that capacity Tom also works closely with the Multi-Asset Solutions group on initiatives including traditional asset allocation strategies, portable alpha strategies and asset/liability solutions that address the needs of institutional investors. Tom also supports institutional business and product development needs.

Prior to joining ING, Tom managed the investment solutions and consulting team for the Merrill Lynch Retirement Group where he oversaw a staff of plan consultants and actuaries focusing on risk management strategies for pensions and optimal plan design structures for 401(k) plans. He also served as an Institutional Investment Consultant and held roles in sales and marketing of retirement plan record keeping and investment services during his 18 year tenure with Merrill Lynch. Tom holds a B.A. in business and accounting from Muhlenberg College and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is also a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.

Nanette Buziak

Nanette Buziak joined ING Investment Management as Head of U.S. Equity Trading in March 2005. In this role, she is responsible for all equity trading operations and focuses on working with the trading desk, portfolio managers and analysts in streamlining trading-related functions. She has centralized ING Investment Management's domestic equity trading in New York, and is focused on enhancing the information flow between investment professionals, and further integrating trading into the Alpha generating investment process. She joined ING Investment Management from JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management where she was a senior portfolio manager responsible for the structured equity portfolios. There she leveraged her extensive skills in trading and market insights to determine the best mechanism for executing portfolio strategy such as block trading, crossing networks and package trading. Her previous experience includes roles as trader and portfolio manager for First Marathon America, Inc.'s domestic convertible bond arbitrage portfolio and as a member of the program trading team. Prior to this she was a financial analyst at Bear Stearns & Company, Inc. Nanette received a B.B.A. in applied actuarial mathematics from Bryant College in May 1993.

Enrico Cacciatore joined ING Investment Management in February 2008 as a Senior Trader supporting the quantitative equity team and program trading for the U.S. fundamental equity team. Prior to joining ING Investment Management, Enrico was at TradeTrek Securities LLC, a sell-side agency only algorithmic trading broker/dealer, where he was Managing Director and Head Trader. His responsibilities included managing the development, build-out, and implementation from the ground up of the firm's algorithmic trading desk. Enrico also worked for 6 years at Fidelity Investments in New York City as an equity trader. Prior to his investment experience, Enrico was a Captain in the U.S. Army serving with the 5th Special Forces, as well as other Special Operation Forces throughout the U.S. and Middle East. Enrico earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace Systems) from the United States Military Academy at West Point, as well as graduate studies in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University.

Vincent Costa is Head of Quantitative Equity, responsible for leading the portfolio management effort and overseeing research for quantitative equity products. These products include index, enhanced index, and active quantitative funds. Vinnie joined ING Investment Management in April 2006 as Head of Portfolio Management for Quantitative Equity. He has been managing quantitative equity portfolios for the past 15 years. Prior to joining ING he was with Merrill Lynch Investment Management, where he worked for seven years in quantitative equity leadership positions. Most recently, he served as managing director and head of their quantitative investments organization where he had oversaw some $60 billion in assets across 70 funds. Prior to that he worked at Bankers Trust Company as a Senior Portfolio Manager, managing global index and enhanced index products. He earned his Bachelor's degree in quantitative business analysis from Pennsylvania State University and his M.B.A. in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business, and he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Prior to that, Uri was an analyst with Great Lakes Capital and Sanford Bernstein. He received a B.A. summa cum laude from Yeshiva College. He has been the recipient of several industry citations, including the "Best of the Buy Side" in Institutional Investor and "25 to Watch Over the Next 25 Years" in Pension & Investments.

Steve Salopek

Steve Salopek joined ING Investment Management in June 2005 from Banc One Investment Advisors, where he was a portfolio manager directing $700 million in small-cap growth assets. He has worked in portfolio management and sector research roles and has extensive experience with equity research, portfolio management and developing a robust investment process. Reporting to Head of Fundamental Equity Chris Corapi, Steve is responsible for working with the portfolio management teams to enhance the approach and structure of the firm’s small-cap equity investment strategies. Prior to Banc One, he was with Stein Roe & Farnham where he managed small-cap growth assets for institutional clients. Steve earned his B.S. and M.B.A. from The Ohio State University.

Philip A. Schwartz, CFA

Philip Schwartz is Head of International Equity and Senior Portfolio Manager for the international value strategy and has extensive experience covering international markets. Philip is responsible for managing portfolios as well as designing and implementing the international value investment process. Prior to joining ING Investment Management in 1993, he was with European investment firm Cheuvreux de Virieu in Paris and New York. Prior to that, he held positions as a stockbroker in Boston. Philip earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Economics from Boston University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Steve Sedmak
Portfolio Manager

Steve Sedmak joined ING Investment Management in November 2006 as Portfolio Manager on the quantitative investment team reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management for Quantitative Equity. Before joining ING, Steve was a trader at Stifel Nicolaus/Legg Mason. He also designed and implemented trading algorithms and smart order routing processes and executed agency baskets for small-cap and mid-cap stocks. Prior to that he was a trader at CIBC World Markets where he developed new portfolio and trading analytic systems and was responsible for client and regulatory reporting, trade allocation and booking. He also worked as a summer intern on the equity derivatives strategy team at Merrill Lynch. Steve earned a B.A. degree in mathematics and a B.S. in business administration from the University of Southern California and an M.S. in Mathematics of Finance from New York University.

Vladik Shutoy

Vladik Shutoy joined ING Investment Management in March 2006 as a quantitative research analyst. He has quantitative experience in the financial services industry. Vladik joined ING from Credit Suisse First Boston where he worked in the Equity Derivatives Group. Prior to that he was with Ziff Brothers Investments in the Risk Performance and Reporting Group. He began his career at Goldman, Sachs in Enterprise Technology. Vladik earned a B.S. in computer engineering, an M.S. in computer science and is currently pursuing an M.S. in financial engineering, all from Polytechnic University.

May Tong joined ING Investment Management June 2006. May is a Portfolio Manager on the quantitative equity team. Prior to joining ING, she was an associate portfolio manager for five years on the quantitative team at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers with oversight of $60 billion of assets including daily cash management and determination of trading needs and strategies for all index and enhanced strategies. Before that she was an audit intern at Grant Thornton where she assisted with all phases of audit processes for several clients. She received a B.S. in finance and accounting magna cum laude from Boston College, Carrol School of Management and was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Pavel Vaynshtok, CFA

Pavel Vaynshtok is Director of Quantitative Research, responsible for leading quantitative research efforts for all equity portfolios. Additionally he serves as Co-Portfolio Manager for the ING Large-Cap Core portfolio as well as for ING quantitative portfolios. In his prior role at ING he was a senior quantitative analyst leading development of the quantitative equity platform. Before joining ING in 2004, Pavel was a portfolio manager and quantitative analyst at JPMorgan Investment Management, where he managed structured equity portfolios and developed models for stock selection. He received a B.S. in operations research from the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science and an M.B.A in finance from the University of Michigan Business School. Pavel holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
