Paul Zemsky, CFA
Head of Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions Group

Paul Zemsky is the head of ING’s Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions Group. The team’s mandate is to develop products and provide investment solutions that go beyond ING’s traditional investment offerings. The group combines capabilities in derivatives/financial engineering, risk management, asset allocation, liability modeling and pension accounting and multi-strategy portable alpha. Paul joined ING Investment Management in 2005 as Head of Derivative Strategies. In this role, he oversaw derivative strategies for credit, interest rate, and equity products, and supported the organization on a number of key areas, including product development and risk management for both proprietary and third-party businesses. Prior to his role at ING, Paul spent 18 years at JPMorgan Investment Management, where he held a number of key positions, including having responsibility for the market timing and asset allocation for the firm's fixed income business and handling option trading in both the exchange-traded and over-the-counter markets. He was one of the first on Wall Street to identify the potential for portable alpha strategies and liability targeted portfolios. Most recently, he co-founded CaliberOne Private Funds Management, a macro hedge fund. Paul has 24 years of investment experience. He holds a dual degree in finance and electrical engineering from the Management and Technology Program at the University of Pennsylvania and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Brian Gendreau, Ph.D.
Investment Strategist

Brian Gendreau is an Investment Strategist with ING Investment Management. He is a member of its asset allocation committee, which sets the investment strategy for over $12 billion in ING’s asset allocation, lifecycle, and balanced funds. Brian has a B.A. in economics from Northwestern University, a M.A. from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Relations, and a PhD in Business Economics from the Wharton School. He has taught in the MBA programs at Wharton and New York University, and has contributed to academic journals in economics and finance. Before coming to Wall Street, he served as a staff economist with the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. He worked for JP Morgan, Salomon Smith Barney, and Heckman Global Advisors prior to joining ING in 2004. Brian appears frequently on CNBC and Bloomberg television and radio.

Seth D. Finkelstein, CFA
Senior Portfolio Specialist & Portfolio Manager

Seth Finkelstein is Senior Portfolio Specialist responsible for Multi-Asset Strategies including traditional asset allocation products, portable alpha strategies, and customized asset/liability solutions that address clients’ plan level investment objectives. Seth also serves as a Portfolio Manager for the Group’s portable alpha strategies. Additionally, Seth has oversight responsibility for the broader team of Portfolio Specialists based in New York, and is involved extensively in new product development in the institutional as well as structured product arenas. Seth joined ING Investment Management in 2005 as Senior Portfolio Specialist, responsible for a variety of Fundamental Equity strategies, including 130/30, Research Analyst Portfolio, and sector-specific portfolios. Seth has 12 years investment experience spanning a variety of traditional and alternative asset classes, and has worked with a broad spectrum of retail and institutional client segments. Prior to joining ING, Seth was with Seneca Capital Management where he served as a portfolio advisor on the firm’s growth equity and domestic fixed income strategies. Earlier in his career, Seth was a lead product manager for JP Morgan Investment Management’s retirement business. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.B.A. in finance from Baruch College and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Eleonora Omarova
Senior Quantitative Analyst

Eleonora (Nora) Omarova joined ING Investment Management in July 2007 as a Senior Quantitative Analyst in the Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions Group. Nora has nine years of financial experience. Prior to joining ING, she worked as a senior global risk analyst with Citigroup. She developed Citigroup internal sovereign rating and currency devaluation models, and a methodology for setting limits on options vega exposure for proprietary trading portfolios. Prior to Citigroup, she worked for Travelers Investment Group, where she developed a sovereign bond model to predict spread movements and determine investment strategy for an emerging markets portfolio. Nora holds a M.A. degree from Columbia School of International Affairs, a M.S. in Finance from Columbia Business School and is a Ph.D. candidate in Finance at Columbia Business School. She is a recipient of the National Association for Business Economics Contributed Paper Award for her publication in the Business Economics journal.

Ben Chen, Ph.D., CFA

Ben Chen joined ING Investment Management in July 2007 as a Senior Quantitative Analyst. He has 11 years of experience in the financial services industry. Most recently, Ben worked for the Structured Derivatives Strategies Group at ING Annuities where he designed a sophisticated quantitative fund analytics framework to evaluate fund managers and construct multi-asset fund portfolio for variable annuity business, developed hedging strategies for performance guarantees offered in variable annuity products. Prior to that, he was a senior quantitative analyst responsible for risk and portfolio management at Starview Capital Management, a fund of hedge funds. Previously he worked for Guzman & Company in Miami where he spent 5 years conducting market microstructure research for its institutional clients and developing investment strategies for its proprietary trading desk. Ben holds a B.A. in economics from Xiamen University and a M.A. in Economics from Peking University, both in China. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from Syracuse University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Pierre Couture joined ING in March 2007 as a Senior Actuary for Multi-Asset Strategies including traditional asset allocation products, portable alpha strategies, and customized asset/liability solutions that address clients’ plan level investment objectives. Prior to joining ING, Pierre consulted to US (public, Taft-Hartley and corporate) and multinational clients seeking integrated financial risk management advice for their pension plans. He specialized in asset/liability modeling, strategic asset allocation, funding, and accounting policy diagnostics. Before joining Mercer’s New York office in 1994, Pierre worked in the Mercer’s Montreal office for over four years. Pierre holds a BSc in actuarial sciences from Universite Laval in Quebec City. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Tom Applegate joined ING Investment Management November, 2007 as a Senior Portfolio Specialist in the Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions Group. Tom has 23 years of investment experience. Prior to joining ING, he spent 18 years with Merrill Lynch where he held several positions including director of plan consulting and investment solutions for their retirement group. His responsibilities included overseeing a team of actuaries and consultants who focused on risk management strategies for pensions and optimal plan design structures for 401(k) plans. Tom received a B.A. in accounting and business administration from Muhlenberg College. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Heather Hackett is the Portfolio Specialist for the Multi-Asset Strategies group primarily responsible for outcome oriented asset allocation products and customized portfolios for institutional clients. She joined ING Investment Management in 2005 as a Portfolio Specialist supporting the International Equity and Asset Allocation teams. She has 12 years of investment experience. Most recently, Heather was an analyst in the Consulting Group of Smith Barney. Earlier in her career, she was a registered associate with Schroder & Co. Heather graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in business economics from State University of New York. She is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Jody Hrazanek

Jodi Hrazanek joined ING Investment Management in October 2005. She has 13 years of investment-related experience. In her current role she is a derivatives trader with responsibility for ING’s third-party business as well as the firm’s general account. Prior to joining ING she was a convertible bond trader at Advent Capital Management. She had previously been a bond and risk arbitrage trader at Merrill Lynch Quantitative Advisors and Deutsche Bank Asset Management and an analyst at Goldman Sachs. Jody graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fairfield University with a B.S. in mathematics and a M.S. in statistics and operations research from New York University.

Jason Rausch joined ING Investment Management in April 2007 with 4 years of experience in the investment management industry. He came from Jennison Associates where he most recently worked as a Portfolio Assistant. In his current role, Jason is part of the team responsible for trading derivatives for ING’s third-party accounts. He graduated with a B.S. in Finance from Marist College and a B.B.A. in Accounting from Dowling College. Jason holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts.

Susan Viston is the Portfolio Specialist for several Fundamental Equity strategies including Large-Cap Core Research, Research Analyst Strategy, 130/30 Fundamental Equity, Large-Cap Value and sector-specific portfolios. She has 6 years of investment experience. Susan joined ING Investment Management in 2002 as an operations analyst focusing on soft-dollar reconciliation and worked most recently as a performance attribution specialist in the ING Investment Risk Department. She received a B.A. in economics from Drew University.

Susan Barrett joined ING Investment Management in 2004 as a Portfolio Specialist supporting the large and mid-cap growth, large-cap core research, small-cap, large-cap value, and fixed income teams. She has 12 years of investment experience. Susan joined ING from Focus Investment Group, a fund of hedge funds, where she was responsible for marketing and client servicing. Previously, Susan was with Credit Suisse Asset Management for over five years serving in various capacities, including manager of the RFP group. Prior to that, she was an investment assistant with Bankers Trust. She received her B.A. in economics from Villanova University.

Rachael joined ING Investment Management in 2001 as a senior publisher in marketing. She received a B.F.A. (summa cum laude) from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
