Dan Norman
Managing Director and Group Head

Dan is Managing Director and Group Head of the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group. He co-manages the Group with Jeff Bakalar, and he is co-chairman of the Group’s Investment Committee and the Loan Valuation Committee.
Dan has over twenty-five years of investment experience. He began managing senior loan portfolios in 1995 when ING’s predecessor acquired the management rights to ING Prime Rate Trust. Dan became the co-head of ING’s senior loan business in January of 2000 and, with Jeff Bakalar, created and implemented the ING Senior Loan Strategy and the ING Senior Loan Group in January of 2001. Dan is currently a member of the Loan Syndications and Trading Association and International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers Boards of Directors.
Dan has a wide variety of business and investment experience, having begun his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. in 1981. He joined ING’s predecessor in 1992. Dan received his B.A. degree in 1980 from the University of Nebraska and completed the University of Nebraska M.B.A. program in 1981.
Jeff Bakalar

Jeff is Managing Director and Group Head of the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group. He co-manages the Group with Dan Norman, and he is co-chairman of the Group’s Investment Committee and the Loan Valuation Committee. Jeff has over twenty years of investment and banking experience. Jeff joined ING’s predecessor in 1998 and became part of the investment team for what is now ING Prime Rate Trust. He became the co-head of ING’s senior loan business in January of 2000 and, with Dan Norman, created and implemented the ING Senior Loan Strategy and the ING Senior Loan Group in January of 2001.
Jeff began his career as an associate with Continental Bank in 1987, serving in various credit and corporate finance roles, including establishing and managing derivatives trading lines with international bank counterparties, and structuring and monitoring various classes of asset-backed transactions. In 1994, Jeff joined the Communications Division within The First National Bank of Chicago, ultimately serving as a senior underwriter responsible for structuring and managing leveraged transactions for issuers in the broadcasting and media sectors. Jeff received his B.S. degree in finance with honors from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1986, and his M.B.A. in finance with highest distinction from DePaul University in 1992.
Ralph E. Bucher

Ralph Bucher is Senior Vice President and Senior Credit Officer in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group and joined the Group in November 2001. Ralph serves as a member of the Group’s Investment Committee and the Loan Valuation Committee. Ralph also assists in the approval of senior loan credit limits, problem loan management and loan valuations.
Ralph has spent most of his financial career in credit risk management and distressed asset management. Prior to joining ING, Ralph was the North American Head of Special Assets for Standard Chartered Bank. Ralph has also held other senior credit risk management positions with Standard Chartered and Societé Generale, as well as credit structuring and analysis positions with National Australia Bank and Commerzbank. Ralph earned a Masters of International Management degree at the Thunderbird School of Global Management in 1985 and a B.A. degree from the University of Arizona in 1983. Ralph also speaks German.
Marc Boatwright, J.D.

Marc Boatwright is Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Team Leader in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group and leads the group’s alternative credit efforts. Marc and his team cover the media, cable, entertainment, leisure, restaurant and retail sectors. He and his team also manage special situations, structured finance and alternative investments. Marc serves as the lead portfolio manager for the majority of CLOs advised by the Senior Loan Group.
Marc joined ING in 2007 to organize the ING Senior Loan Group’s alternative credit business. From 2003-2007, he managed special situation assets for Providence Capital, a hedge fund in Minneapolis, Minnesota. From 2001-2003, Marc served as the Chief Operating Officer of Andes Industries, Inc. where he engineered the successful turnaround and sale of the company. From 1998 to 2001, he was the Managing Director of VillagePhone, LLC, a wireless telecommunications company in emerging markets. He also worked as a management consultant from 1994 to 2001. Marc was a research fellow at Harvard Business School in 1993 and began his career as an attorney with Katten, Muchin & Zavis in Chicago, Illinois from 1990 to 1992. Marc is a 1990 graduate of Harvard Law School, and received his B.A. from Wheaton College in 1987.

Mark and his team cover the automotive, building products, consumer products, manufacturing and transportation sectors. Mark also serves as the lead portfolio manager for ING Prime Rate Trust and ING Senior Loan Collective Trust. Mark joined ING U.S. IM’s predecessor in 1999. Prior to that, Mark was an Assistant Vice President in the Corporate Banking Group of Norwest Bank in Phoenix, Arizona, from 1997 to 1998. He was a lead financial analyst and Portfolio Manager with Bank One in Phoenix, Arizona, from 1996 to 1997 and a Credit Manager with Norwest Financial in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Chicago, Illinois, and Phoenix, Arizona, from 1994 to 1996.
Mark is a 1994 graduate of Marquette University with a B.S. degree in business administration with majors in finance and human resource management. He received his M.B.A. in 1999 from the University of Notre Dame where he graduated cum laude. Mark has held the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation since 2001.

Chuck LeMieux is a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Team Leader in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group, and joined ING’s predecessor in 1998. Chuck and his team cover the aerospace, defense, chemicals, packaging, metals and mining, and energy and utilities sectors. Chuck also serves as the lead portfolio manager for, ING U.S. Investment Management CLO I, ING U.S. Investment Management CLO II, ING Floating Rate Fund and ING Senior Income Fund.
Chuck has a wide variety of business and investment experience across several major industries. He began his career with Ernst & Whinney in 1987. He continued in corporate finance with progressively more responsible positions, working as a Controller for a chemical company, a Senior Metals Trader for a global mining company and then as an Assistant Treasurer for a local power and water utility where he managed a staff of 15 professionals and was in charge of investing working capital funds of over $1 billion.
Chuck is a 1985 graduate of the University of Arizona, and received his M.B.A. from the University of Arizona in 1987. Chuck has held the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation since 1997 and has been very active in the local Phoenix Society of Financial Analysts, acting as its President in 2002/2003.
Michel Prince, CFA

Michel Prince is a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Team Leader in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group. He joined ING’s predecessor in May 1998. Michel and his team cover the healthcare, cable TV, broadcasting and media, publishing and ecological sectors. Michel also serves as the lead portfolio manager for the ING (L) Flex - Senior Loans SICAV.
Prior to joining ING, Michel was a Vice President of Rabobank International, Chicago branch (from 1996 to 1998) and The Fuji Bank, Chicago Branch (from 1992 to 1996). During his tenure at Rabobank, Michel was involved in the marketing, structuring and syndication of various types of corporate transactions, including asset-based lending, cash-flow lending and off-balance sheet financing.
Michel graduated from the Université de Toulouse Paul-Sabatier with a business degree in 1980. He received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1990. He has held the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation since 1996. Michel is also fluent in French.

Robert Wilson is a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Team Leader in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group. Robert joined ING’s predecessor in June 1998 and became a Senior Vice President within the Group in March of 2003. Robert and his team cover the gaming and lodging, food and beverage, entertainment and leisure, paper and forest products, technology, telecommunications and real estate sectors for the Group. Robert also serves as the lead portfolio manager for ING Investment Management CLO III and ING U.S. Investment Management CLO V, as well as a separately managed account for a large U.S. pension fund.
Robert began his financial services career in 1987 as an Associate National Bank Examiner at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the federal bureau that regulates national banks. From 1990-1994, Robert served as a Vice President of Strategic Planning for Bank of California, an $8 billion regional bank in San Francisco, California. From 1994-1997, Robert was a Vice President with Union Bank of California’s Corporate Banking Group, charged with underwriting and syndicating senior debt transactions for media and telecommunications companies. From 1997 to 1998, Robert served in a similar debt origination capacity with the Bank of Hawaii in Phoenix, Arizona. Robert received his B.S. degree in finance in 1986 from Golden Gate University.
Olivier Struben

Olivier Struben is a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Team Leader, in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group. Olivier joined ING Investment Management Europe in July 1999 and started as an Analyst, with a primary focus on the financial and paper sectors. In 2001, he moved to the High Yield Team, focusing both on bonds and loans. In 2004, he moved to the Investment Grade Team as a Senior Investment Manager. This team managed over Euro 16 billion in investment grade assets. In 2006, Olivier was jointly responsible for establishing the Senior Loan Team Europe and started as a Senior Investment Manager for this team and took over as Team Head in 2007. In 2008 he moved the team from The Hague, Netherlands to London, UK. The London based team is responsible for sourcing all European investments in the ING Senior Loan Group products.
Prior to joining ING U.S. Investment Management Europe, Olivier worked for the Kas Bank N.V. from 1997 until 1999, the custody and settlement bank for the Dutch Stock Exchange, in the Treasury and Control department. Olivier received his Masters degree in economics in 1997 from the University of Amsterdam. Olivier is also fluent in Dutch.

Floris van den Berg is a Vice President and Portfolio Manager in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group, joining in 2006. Floris started his career in 2001 as Portfolio Manager in the Institutional Clients Department of ING U.S. Investment Management Europe. In 2004, he joined the Asset Backed Securities team in ING Europe as Investment Manager. Sarah Pitteloud is an Assistant Vice President and Research Analyst and joined the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group in 2012. Sarah started her career at Credit Suisse in the Leveraged Finance Origination team in London where she worked on the origination, structuring and marketing of loan and bond financing for non-investment grade corporate issuers, as well as providing restructuring advisory services. In 2011 she joined Credit Suisse’s Leveraged Loan Sales and Trading Team as a Desk Analyst. Her main responsibilities included credit monitoring and analysis to protect the trading book and generate investment ideas.
Sarah received a MSc in Accountancy and Finance from Universite Paris Dauphine, France in 2005, and also has her Master’s Degree in Finance from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, France in 2008. Sarah is also fluent in French.

Prior to assuming his portfolio management duties, Jim was a senior analyst on the Group’s Structured Finance team. Jim began working with structured finance when he joined ING’s predecessor in 1999. Jim has a variety of treasury investment experience. He began his career with two financial software companies: Bennett Management Services and later IPS Sendero Corporation. Both companies developed software applications that managed treasury risk for financial institutions around the world. Jim is a 1988 graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in finance and a secondary emphasis in mathematics.

Joe Laguna is an Assistant Vice President and Portfolio Manager and joined the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group in 2007. Prior to joining ING, Joseph worked at Intel Corporation in finance starting in 2005. From 1998 to 2004 Joseph served in the U.S. Air Force, working in the US Department of Defense Space Flight Acquisition Division (2002 to 2004), the Military Strategic Tactical and Relay (MILSTAR) Satellite Program (2000 to 2002) and in the Global Broadcast Service Satellite Program (1998 to 2000).

Elliot Rosen is a Senior Vice President in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group and is the head of the Treasury and Operations group. Elliot joined ING’s predecessor in 1999 to organize the firm’s efforts in managing structured products, and he later added the operational and treasury responsibilities for the Senior Loan Group.
Elliot has a wide variety of business and investment expertise. After graduating with an economics degree from the University of Michigan in 1975, Elliot began his finance career working as a credit analyst for a commercial bank in Cleveland, Ohio. After earning his M.B.A. from the Darden School at the University of Virginia in 1981, Elliot joined the largest regional bank in Arizona and later become the manager of its treasury division. In 1993, Elliot joined a software company, Sendero Corporation, as its president, to lead its effort to build a modern, Windows® based, asset/liability software package, and later left the company, upon its acquisition, to join ING’s predecessor.

John Cotton is a Vice President in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group and serves as its Controller. John joined ING’s predecessor in November, 1998, as a Financial Analyst responsible for managing accounting systems for structured finance transactions.
John began his finance career as an Investment Advisor with a New York Stock Exchange firm. Prior to joining ING, he spent 6 years in Silicon Valley working for both high-technology software and hardware companies. During that time, he held progressively responsible positions in the Accounting/Finance area, including Director of Finance. John received a B.A. degree in finance from Northern Arizona University in 1981 and completed the University of Arizona Eller College of Management M.B.A. program in 2007.
James E. Grimes

James Grimes is a Vice President in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group and supervises the reporting and CLO operations team. James joined ING’s predecessor in January 1999. James was also the chief architect and lead developer of the RDS System, the Senior Loan Group’s proprietary portfolio management and trading system.
For the period from June 1994 to January 1999, James served as Director of Finance and Strategic Planning for NationsBanc Auto Leasing, Inc., where he managed the company’s asset-backed securitization structuring and analysis group. His responsibilities spanned all phases of an asset-backed securitization, from structure development, negotiation and execution to post execution analysis and management. Prior to joining NationsBanc, James served as a Corporate Finance Analyst for Lehman Brothers’ Investment Banking division, where he was involved in the marketing and execution of several equity-related financings. James received a B.A. in economics from Yale University in May 1991. Prior to college, James served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Paul Weinberger is a Vice President and Assistant Treasurer in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group and is responsible for supervising the settlement of all cash-flow activities. Paul began his career with ING when he joined ING Funds Distributor, LLC (an affiliated company) in 2004, working in the Marketing Department. Paul joined the Senior Loan Group in August 2007. Paul’s career in the financial industry includes experience in the areas of analysis, sales, and marketing. He began his career as an internal auditor at Bankers Trust Company in New York, and progressed to roles in performance measurement and the analysis of high-net-worth families’ portfolios. For ten years, Paul was a sales professional working with pension fund consultants, brokers, and high-net-worth investors. Jay began his career as an analyst for JPMorgan Private Client Services overseeing the measurement, calculation and performance methodology of investment reporting for high-net-worth accounts. He primarily focused on the support and training of portfolio managers and advisors on asset allocation, attribution, classification and reporting platforms.
Jay received a B.S. degree in finance from Arizona State University in 2004, and an M.B.A. from the University of Arizona in 2009. Jay also speaks Tagalog (Filipino).
Hank Rivoir

Hank Rivoir is a Senior Vice President in the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group and serves as the Senior Loan Group’s internal legal counsel. Hank joined ING’s predecessor in 1998. While at ING, Hank has handled a variety of corporate, regulatory and litigation matters, as well as being responsible for legal matters relating to ING’s structured finance business. In 2004, Hank joined the Senior Loan Group and provides legal counsel regarding loan transactions, structured finance, new products and workouts.
Hank began his legal career in 1976 with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the federal bureau that regulates national banks, working in its regulatory and enforcement divisions, and serving as regional counsel for its mid-south region. From 1985 to 1987, Hank was a partner in a law firm in Phoenix, Arizona, practicing banking and general corporate law. In 1987, he became Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for United Bank of Arizona, a $2.5 billion regional bank in Phoenix.
In 1989, Hank was appointed by the Governor of Arizona to be the Superintendent of Banks for the State of Arizona. In that position, he directed an agency that regulated over 2,000 financial services licensees. Upon leaving government service, Hank practiced law, representing clients in the areas of business, real estate and telecommunications law.
Hank received his B.A. from Dickinson College in 1972 and his Juris Doctor from The George Washington University in 1975.
Mary Floberg

Mary Floberg is an Assistant Vice President and the Portfolio Specialist for the ING U.S. Investment Management Senior Loan Group. Mary is responsible for preparing and distributing marketing presentations and sales materials for the Group’s investment strategies. She also helps drive asset growth and retention activities for senior loan products with ING’s distribution, external parties and key clients. Mary manages the partnership of the investment team with product management, marketing, sales and client service groups.
Mary started her career with ING Funds in 2006, working as a Reporting Analyst in the Fund Accounting department. She joined the Senior Loan Group in 2007 as the Trading Assistant, and moved into her current position in 2009.
Mary graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University in 2005 with a degree in finance.
